Step 2: Get Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance. We hope you won’t need it, but we do think this kind of coverage can take some of the stress out of travel, allowing you to set out on vacation knowing you’ll have some assistance and financial protection if you face an emergency. Access America’s travel insurance covers unforeseen events from lost luggage to cancelled flights to medical emergencies. Choose a plan and buy your insurance directly from Access America.

Step 3: Consider Sustainable Travel

We’d like to think our culinary tours represent a form of sustainable travel – after all, this is about appreciating the connections between Spain’s landscapes and its cuisines. This is a “Slow” sort of travel that supports local chefs, winemakers, and all things authentic. It’s a good start, but let’s face it, getting there does mean guzzling jet fuel.

The good news is you can make your travel gentler on the planet, reducing the Carbon Footprint of your journey through Carbon Offsets – essentially donations to environmental programs that reduce CO2 emissions.

The Colorado-based nonprofit Sustainable Travel International is our pick for handling Carbon Offset donations because they channel the money to verified, high quality, high impact renewable energy projects around the world. Go to STI’s website to calculate the carbon footprint of your trip and make an offset contribution.
