Sample Itinerary: Barcelona Culinary Tour: The Best of Catalan Art, Culture, and Cuisine

Day 1

  • Arrival and check-in. We’ll provide you with details on getting to your hotel.
  • Guided walk in the Eixample, Barcelona’s elegant Gaudí-inspired moderniste quarter, including a tour of the architect’s famous Casa Milà.
  • Pick-me-up: depending on your arrival time, your neighborhood walk will include a stop at a classic café, or a tasting at the city’s best chocolate shop.
  • Afternoon free time – have a real lunch, see more Gaudí, browse shops, or just relax.
  • An elegant uptown tapeo – contrasting traditional and creative versions of the city’s small plates.

Day 2

  • Breakfast.
  • Meet your guide and taxi into the Barri Vell or Old City for a walking tour that takes in both historic and gastronomic highlights.
  • Browse the Santa Caterina and the Boquería markets, visit hidden specialty shops, and taste Catalan cheeses along the way.
  • Join a hands-on cooking class and prepare a three-course lunch featuring paella or head to the beach for a seafood feast instead – whichever you prefer.
  • Late afternoon free time with tips on exploring – or maybe a siesta?
  • Dinner on your own with suggestions on our favourites and help with reservations.

Day 3

  • Breakfast.
  • Morning free with suggestions on art, culture, shopping, or whatever you fancy.
  • Lunch on your own, with suggestions on favourites and help with reservations.
  • Meet your guide and driver for a tour of harder-to-get to highlights offering panoramic views of the city – Parc Guëll, the Port, and Montjuïc, including a stop at the Fundació Joan Miró.
  • A downtown tapeo – with help from your guide, you’ll enjoy the more raucous downtown dinner scene.
  • End on a sweet note with a three-course dessert tasting (including fabulous wine pairings) at one of Barcelona’s best creative restaurants.

Day 4

  • Breakfast and departure.
